Hosting a Halloween Bash They Will Never Forget

Halloween is just a few short weeks away and that means now is the time to finalize your menu, playlist, activities and decor for your epic Halloween party. From faux cobwebs on the walls to punch bowls that are disguised to look like they’re dripping blood, planning a Halloween bash can be exciting if you have the right balance of theme, decor and activities to keep your guests entertained.

For simplicity in organizing your next spooky party, let’s focus on themes, a playlist, decor, and activities to make your party one they won’t soon forget.

Determine A Theme

Halloween is all about stepping out of our comfort zones including dressing as a movie character, zombie, witch, dragon, or one of the many creative costumes that make the rounds every year.

One of the first things Halloween hosts will want to determine before buying decor, selecting a playlist or arranging for activities, is the party’s theme. Consider some of these ideas to set a theme for your party.

  • Zombie Invasion
  • The Apocalypse
  • Creepy Carnival
  • Monster Mash
  • Witches & Warlocks
  • Haunted House

Select a Spooky Playlist

One of the first things your guests will hear walking into your Halloween bash is the music that will be the backdrop for the entire evening. Choose music that leans heavily into the theme of the season with some selections such as Monster Mash by Bobby Picket, Thriller by Michael Jackson, I Put A Spell on You by Bette Midler, the theme song for Stranger Things by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, Haunted by Beyonce, Haunted by Taylor Swift, or Creep by Radiohead, just to name a few possibilities. A quick Google search should help you finalize a playlist that will be entertaining and on point for your theme.

Plan Your Creepy Decor

Depending on the guidelines of your venue, Halloween decor is a “must” to put your guests into the spirit of the season!

Consider traditional decorations like skeletons, cobwebs, coffins, spiders, monsters, zombies, and anything in fall colors to set the mood for your Halloween bash. Part of your decor could include activity stations such as a pumpkin carving/decorating station, apple bobbing station or crafts for the kids.

Entertaining Activities

Once you have determined your theme, decor, and playlist, it’s time to start thinking about activities to keep your guests engaged and happy. Children love the seasonal activities such as the pumpkin decorating we mentioned above, but what about other activities that will keep everyone, regardless of age, entertained?

Seacoast Events has some creative activities that will make your party the talk of the town. Try our LED Glow games such as LED Shuffleboard, LED Cornhole, LED Frisbee or LED Giant Connect Four that serve as focal lighting and games.

Or choose a Halloween movie thriller and have a screamfest as you experience a spooky movie on a large screen under the stars. Our big-screen movie packages come with an inflatable screen, a sound system and a projector. We will set up and break down after the event.

If you want your guests up and mingling, choose from our large assortment of game rentals including arcade games, larger-than-life games, giant games, carnival games or pub games.
